What does it mean when my Synology DS3612xs status light is orange and blinking?. A blinking orange status light on your NAS indicates that the Synology volume is degraded. What this means is that one or more hard disk drives are not functioning properly, but enough drives are still functional for whatever RAID array you are utilizing (one for RAID 5, two for RAID 6, up to half of the drives I used to be able to see my drives in windows explorer but now they do not show up so I can't map the drives. I have to use the 'Synology Assistant' to find and map my NAS .. Why?? Also it was much easier to map everything and now I must map each folder separately using the 'Synology Assistant' so there are several drives instead of one. Maybe I should clarify: my vision for this setup is that with a Mac having the Store and iTunes and its Library on my Synology NAS, I want to download HD copies of my Apple Store purchases, and unless the movie is 4K I would likely use not the cloud but instead the Synology. The Synology DiskStation DS218j is an excellent entry-level two-bay NAS device that's supported by a bevy of management options and third-party apps.

Today I had to reset Google Authenticator two step authentication for Synology Diskstation.I realised, that I wasn’t able to login into my Synology DS 212+ anymore..
