The SSL VPNs, on the other hand, provide better functionality because of its ‘Anywhere Access’ component. Currently, the two are co-existing and finding takers in the market. I have FortiClient installed on a Windows 7 laptop for connecting to Fortinet VPN's. Recently I've been asked to connect to a customer's Cisco IPsec VPN. The official Cisco IPsec client didn't work on my PC but I found on the net some articles talking about using FortiClient to connect to Cisco IPsec VPN's. To set up IPsec VPN to support WAN optimization. Go to VPN > IPsec Wizard, enter a Name for the IPsec VPN and select Dialup - FortiClient (Windows, Mac OS, Android). In short: you can’t! Official crappy FortiClient VPN package for Linux doesn’t support IPSec VPNs. But there’s an alternative package which supports IKEv1. ShrewSoft VPN client, despite not being developed since 2013, works fine.
